Whitelisting
When a brand runs paid ads through a creator's account, so the ad appears to come from the creator.
Also called: creator licensing, partnership ads, Spark Ads, dark posting
Whitelisting lets a brand put money behind a creator's post, or run new ads under the creator's name, reaching people beyond the creator's followers. On Meta this runs through partnership ads; on TikTok through Spark Ads, where the creator shares an authorisation code.
It is worth a separate fee because the creator is lending their name to the brand's targeting and messaging. Agree the length of the access, the maximum spend if there is one, whether the brand may edit captions, and who approves new ads before they run.
