Instagram grid maker

Cut one picture into a 3, 6, 9 or 12 post grid that lines up on your profile. Tiles at the grid’s own 3:4 shape, the gaps between them allowed for, numbered in the order to post them, and previewed on an Instagram profile with your name and picture before you post. It runs in your browser, so nothing is uploaded.

How many posts
Lines between tiles

A thin strip of the picture is left out where Instagram puts a line between tiles, so shapes line up across them.

Your profile optional, for the preview

How it will look

Scroll inside the phone to see the top of the profile. Hover a tile to save it on its own.

  1. Post the tile numbered 1 first. It ends up bottom right.
  2. Carry on in number order, one post at a time, to 9, which lands top left.
  3. Post them in a row, with nothing else in between, or the picture shifts along.
How it works

One picture, a whole row at a time

Drop in a picture and choose how many rows of three to fill. The picture is cut into tiles at 1080 by 1440, the shape the profile grid shows since 2025, with the thin lines between tiles left out so the picture lines up across them. Zoom and move it until the grid frames it the way you want, then download the tiles. The preview is your profile as it will look on a phone, with your username and picture, the grid tabs, and your older posts carrying on below the new ones.

  • Post in number order. Tile 1 first; it ends up bottom right. The last tile lands top left.
  • Whole rows only. Three, six, nine or twelve posts. Anything else shifts the picture along.
  • Unpin first. Pinned posts sit at the top of the grid and push the picture down and across.
For agencies

Plan the grid, not just the post

A grid launch is a campaign in itself: nine posts, in order, on the right days. Wiro runs content calendars and approvals per client, with a scheduler that plans each post in the right market’s time.

Common questions

In what order do I post the tiles?

From the bottom right to the top left. Instagram puts the newest post at the top left of the grid, so the first tile you post ends up bottom right. The files are numbered in posting order: post 1 first, then 2, and so on to the last, which lands top left.

Why are the tiles 3:4 and not square?

Since 2025 the profile grid shows every post as a 3:4 rectangle, 1080 by 1440 pixels. Square tiles would be cropped at the sides on the grid and the picture would not line up. Instagram also lets you post at 3:4, so the tiles show uncut in the feed too.

What are the gaps between tiles?

The grid draws a thin line between posts. If the picture carries on straight through it, a line or an edge that crosses from one tile to the next looks broken. Leaving out the grid's gaps skips that thin strip, so shapes line up across the tiles. Turn it off to keep every pixel of the picture.

Why does my grid look shifted?

Something else is on the grid. Pinned posts sit at the top of the grid and push everything along, so unpin them while the picture is showing. A post added in the middle, or a number of tiles that is not a whole row of three, shifts the picture too.

Can I use a video?

The grid shows each post as a still, so a video would not line up on it. Use a picture. If you post reels, you can upload a tile as a reel's cover, and the grid shows that cover in its place.

Is my picture uploaded?

No. It is cut in your browser and the tiles are saved on your device. Nothing is sent to Wiro, and nothing is posted for you: upload the tiles from your phone in order.
