Asana or an agency OS: an honest comparison
Asana is one of the clearest ways to organise work across a team. This page looks at how far that clarity carries an agency, and where the agency's business happens somewhere else.
What Asana is genuinely good at
Most comparison pages won’t say this, so it’s worth being plain: Asana is a strong product, and for plenty of teams it’s the right choice.
- Clarity by design. Asana is opinionated about who owns what and by when, and that discipline is exactly what many growing teams lack.
- Goals, portfolios and workload. Seeing every project against company goals, and who is overloaded next week, is a real strength for a studio managing many projects at once.
- Easy to learn. People pick it up quickly, which matters when freelancers and new hires join mid-project.
- Reliable and well supported. A long-established product with strong integrations and good apps.
Where agencies hit the edges
It organises the work, not the business
Asana tells you the campaign is due Thursday. It doesn't invoice the client for it, record the VAT, or show that the retainer went over scope.
Agency deliverables are just tasks
A social post, a press hit and an influencer video are all tasks with attachments. Scheduling, client approval, coverage screenshots and creator rates are handled elsewhere.
Clients are outsiders
Asana is built for the team doing the work. Bringing clients in to request work, share files and approve deliverables is possible, but it isn't what the product is shaped around.
Reporting to clients is manual
Asana reports on the team's progress. A monthly report for a client, with results, coverage and spend, is assembled by hand.

How to tell which one you need
- Is your team's work the problem, or the client side? If projects slip because nobody knows who owns what, Asana solves that well. If projects run fine but invoicing, approvals and reports eat the week, the gap is elsewhere.
- How many tools does a monthly client report touch? If the answer is four or five, count the hours.
- Do you use goals and workload planning? If those views are central to how you run the studio, Wiro doesn't replace them yet.
If Asana keeps your projects on track and the rest of the agency runs smoothly around it, keep it. Wiro is for agencies whose time goes into the work around the tasks.

Can Wiro replace Asana for a creative agency?
For most agency work, yes: projects, tasks and deadlines, plus invoicing, content approval, PR, influencers and client reporting. If you depend on Asana's goals, portfolios or workload planning, Wiro doesn't have equivalents.
Is Asana better for large teams?
For coordinating many teams against company goals, Asana is the more mature tool. Wiro is built for agencies, from a handful of people to a studio with many clients.
Can we move projects from Asana?
Asana exports projects to CSV. Clients and active projects are worth bringing; finished work usually isn't.
