Instagram carousel maker

Design a carousel from a few clean layouts in your colours, with a photo or a video behind any slide, or cut one wide picture into a seamless swipe. In English or Arabic, for Instagram or as a PDF for LinkedIn. It runs in your browser, so nothing is uploaded.

Your carousel

5 of up to 20 slides, 1080 × 1350. Instagram takes them as one post; the PDF is how LinkedIn shows a carousel.

How it works

Two ways to make a carousel

Design slides

Start from the example and make it yours. Each slide has a layout: a cover with a hook and a swipe cue, a text slide for one point, a numbered list, a quote, and a closing slide with a call to action. Pick your colours, a font, your handle and your logo, and every slide follows. Put a photo or a video behind any slide. Long text shrinks to fit rather than running off the edge.

Split a picture

Drop in a panorama, a flat lay or a wide banner, choose 2 to 10 slides, and aim the crop. The picture is cut into slides that meet exactly, so the post swipes like one long image.

Getting it right

What makes people swipe

  • A cover that promises something. A number, a question or a result. The cover is the only slide most people see.
  • One idea per slide. If a slide needs a second paragraph, it is two slides.
  • Ask for the save. Saves and shares are what carry a carousel further; a closing slide that asks for one gets more of both.
  • Mind the cuts. On a split picture, keep faces and words off the dashed lines, where one slide ends and the next begins.
For agencies

From one carousel to a content calendar

A carousel is one post. Wiro runs the rest: content calendars per client, approvals, and a scheduler that plans each post in the right market’s time.

Common questions

What size should an Instagram carousel be?

1080 by 1350 pixels (4:5) takes the most room in the feed and is the usual choice. Square (1080 by 1080) works too, and 3:4 (1080 by 1440) matches the crop of the profile grid. Every slide in one post is shown at the shape of the first, so keep them all the same.

How many slides can a carousel have?

Up to 20 pictures in one post. Most carousels that do well are between 5 and 10: a cover that makes people swipe, one idea per slide, and a closing slide that asks for a save, a share or a follow.

How do I make a seamless carousel?

Choose Split a picture, drop in one wide image, pick how many slides, and download. Each slide is cut exactly where the next begins, so swiping moves through the picture as one. Keep faces and text away from the dashed cut lines.

Can a slide have a photo or video behind it?

Yes, any slide. Add a picture or a video to a slide and it fills the background, with the slide's colour laid over it (as much or as little as you like) so the words stay readable. A video slide downloads as an MP4 with the words on top, recorded in your browser in real time, up to Instagram's 60 seconds. Chrome and Safari record MP4; Firefox can only make WebM, which Instagram does not take.

Can I use it for LinkedIn?

Yes. A LinkedIn carousel is a PDF posted as a document, one slide per page. Design your slides, choose PDF for LinkedIn, and upload that file to a LinkedIn post as a document.

Does it work in Arabic?

Yes. A slide written in Arabic is laid out right to left, with the text, lists and quote marks mirrored. You can mix English and Arabic slides in one carousel.

Is anything uploaded?

No. The slides are drawn in your browser from what you type and the pictures you add, and the downloads are made on your device. Nothing is sent to Wiro. It does not post to Instagram for you: upload the images from your phone or your scheduler.
