Sponsored content disclosure

Making it clear to an audience when a creator has been paid or gifted to promote something.

Also called: paid partnership label, #ad, influencer disclosure

Audiences have a right to know when a post is an advert. Disclosure means labelling it clearly, at the start rather than buried in hashtags: the platform's paid partnership label, plus words such as "ad" or "paid partnership" in the caption, in the language of the audience.

Regulators across the Gulf expect paid promotion to be disclosed, and both the UAE and Saudi Arabia license people who advertise on social media. Build disclosure into the contract and the brief, and check it before approving a post, not after it goes live.
