Symphony is TikTok's set of AI tools for making ads. It is free to anyone signed in to TikTok for Business, and in 2026 it became far more capable: it now generates video from text and images, builds an ad from a brief through a chat, and translates and dubs finished videos. For agencies, the useful question is not whether it can make an ad, but where it saves time without putting the client's brand or compliance at risk.
What is in the suite
- Symphony Creative Studio, the web app for generating and editing ads: text to video, image generation, avatars, translation and dubbing, and an editor.
- Symphony Automation, inside Smart+ campaigns, which suggests creative and applies enhancements such as resizing, music refresh, translation and dubbing.
- Symphony Agent, announced at Cannes Lions on 22 June 2026: an AI chat inside Creative Studio that turns a brief into a finished TikTok ad. It also works inside TikTok One, where it helps write creator briefs and find creators.
TikTok says Symphony has increased advertisers' weekly creative output by 2.5 times, and that videos with an avatar presenting in the first person raise engagement by 1.5 times. Those are TikTok's own figures.
Seedance: video from a prompt
In April 2026 TikTok added the Dreamina Seedance 2.0 video model to Symphony, and at TikTok World in May it added Reference to Video, which lets an advertiser specify which product or image appears at which moment. On 3 August 2026 TikTok announced Seedance 2.5, which doubles the maximum length from 15 to 30 seconds, takes up to 50 reference images, videos and audio files instead of nine, and lets the advertiser direct what happens at particular timestamps. Seedance 2.5 is rolling out to selected paid advertisers in selected markets. TikTok says its output carries invisible watermarks, AI labels and C2PA content credentials, and that uploads of real people's faces are blocked.
Avatars
Symphony's stock avatars are built from paid actors licensed for commercial use, and speak more than 30 languages. Custom avatars can be built from a brand's own spokesperson or creator. Both have existed since June 2024. There are now two kinds: voiceover avatars, filtered by industry, gender, background and region, and product avatars, which hold, show or wear a product from an uploaded image. TikTok announced an upgraded avatar experience in July 2026, aimed at product demonstrations and virtual try-on.
Translation and dubbing, and the Arabic question
Creative Studio can translate and dub a video in a clone of the original voice or in a stock voice, and Smart+ can translate and dub automatically into more than 50 languages. TikTok does not publish the language list outside Ads Manager, and we could not confirm from any TikTok source that Arabic is included. Check the language menu inside Ads Manager before promising a client Arabic versions, and have a native speaker review any dubbed ad before it runs.
What reached the Middle East
On 29 June 2026 TikTok said Symphony Agent, Seedance 2.0 in Symphony and Reference to Video were available across the Middle East and North Africa, along with TikTok One. Seedance 2.5 is limited to selected markets, which TikTok has not named.
The labelling rules
Every video exported from Symphony Creative Studio carries an AI-generated label automatically. For AI content made anywhere else, TikTok's ads policy, last updated in April 2026, sets the rule:
- Ads with significantly edited or AI-generated content must carry TikTok's AI-generated content label, or the advertiser's own clear disclaimer, caption, watermark or sticker.
- Significant means fully AI-generated images, video or audio; showing a real person doing something they did not do; or cloning a voice to say something the person did not say.
- Minor edits, such as lighting, background changes or noise reduction, do not need a label.
- Using a public figure's likeness without permission is not allowed.
- AI content that is not disclosed can get the ad rejected or restricted.
Across the platform, TikTok said in July 2026 that it had labelled more than three billion videos as AI-generated, and that it had joined the steering committee of C2PA, the industry group behind content credentials.
How to use it without risk
- Use Symphony for volume and variation: resizes, alternative openings, versions for testing. Keep the hero creative made by people.
- Agree with each client, in writing, which AI tools may be used on their brand.
- Never generate a real person, including the client's own staff, without their written consent.
- Keep the AI label visible in the version the client approves, even when the tool adds it for you.
- Check every product claim, price and legal line in generated ads. AI can change them.
Two popular claims about Symphony are not supported by TikTok: that it cuts production time by 50 to 70 percent, and that it became free in May 2026. It was already free to TikTok for Business users.
