For an independent agency, an award is one of the few credentials a prospect can check for themselves. This autumn the regional calendar is unusually crowded, and two of the biggest shows have moved.
Dubai Lynx
- Creativity Week sessions run on 6 and 7 October 2026 at Dubai Media City, and the awards ceremony is on 8 October at Emirates Golf Club. The ceremony was first set for April.
- It is run by Informa Events in association with the International Advertising Association. It was founded in 2007 by Motivate's Ian Fairservice in partnership with Cannes Lions.
- Entries closed on 22 January 2026, for work from 1 January 2025. There are 21 Lynx awards, including a new Luxury award.
- Standard fees ran from US$575 to $965, rising to $780 to $1,170 by the final deadline.
- The entry guide says juries look at how the objective links to the impact and results.
MENA Effie Awards
- Run by Nordstella in Dubai as part of the Effie Worldwide network. The 2026 gala is on 26 November at Saraj Venue in Riyadh, under the umbrella of Riyadh Season.
- Entries closed on an extended deadline of 22 September, with fees from $755 to $2,562 depending on the deadline. Eligible work ran from 1 April 2025 to 30 June 2026, across 17 countries.
- Effie scores four sections: challenge, context and objectives 23.3%; insights and strategy 23.3%; bringing the strategy and idea to life 23.3%; results 30%.
Campaign's Agency of the Year
The fifth edition has 39 categories, including separate Saudi and UAE awards, with the ceremony in December. Judges look at growth, client retention, the integrated offering, leadership and innovation, industry influence, and talent and culture. Entries have closed for this year.
PR and communications
- SABRE Awards Middle East 2027: entries opened on 14 September 2026, with an early deadline of 16 October and a final deadline of 6 November. A basic entry costs $340, plus $100 for each extra category.
- MEPRA Awards: the Middle East Public Relations Association marks its 25th anniversary with a gala on 26 November 2026 at Atlantis The Palm. Entries have closed, and finalists are due the week of 19 October.
Saudi Arabia, and beyond the Gulf
- The Athar Awards, billed as Saudi Arabia's awards for creative marketing, hold their gala on 25 November 2026 in Riyadh, with separate routes for network agencies, independent agencies and brands.
- The Loeries, open to Africa and the Middle East, hold their awards nights on 8 and 9 October in Cape Town, the same week as Dubai Lynx.
- The Arab Social Media Influencers Award, run by the Dubai Press Club, is for individual creators, not agencies.
Writing an entry that scores
- Start with the business objective and make every result trace back to it. The Lynx guide and Effie's weighting point the same way.
- Give numbers context: before and after, against a benchmark, against the objective.
- Show the insight, not just the execution. Effie gives strategy the same weight as the idea.
- Budget for fees early. Late deadlines cost noticeably more.
- Check dates and venues at the source. Dubai Lynx's move and the Effie gala's city have both caught people out this year.
