Finance

Invoices, expenses and VAT, in one place

Bill clients, record what they pay, log what you spend and know your VAT position, without a spreadsheet. Here is everything the Finance page does, one part at a time.

Overview

This month, in four numbers

Finance opens on what came in this month, what is still outstanding, what went out and what is left. Paid revenue for the last six months sits beside the invoices to chase, overdue first.

  • Revenue counts money received, not invoices sent.
  • Invoices to chase lists overdue, due soon and drafts not yet sent.
  • Overdue, VAT reclaimable, expenses still to bill and reimbursements owed, at a glance.
  • Everything in your agency's own currency.
Invoices

Every document, and what to do next

The Invoices tab lists every document with its status, amount and due date, and the buttons that make sense for it: record a payment, make a receipt, void it or credit it. The line above the list totals what is on screen.

  • Tabs for All, Draft, Sent, Overdue and Paid, each with its count.
  • Search by number or client, filter by client, sort by newest, due date, amount or client.
  • Part-paid invoices show what was paid and what is left.
  • Invoices in another currency show their value in yours.
Writing an invoice

An invoice, with the real thing beside it

Pick the client and add what you did. The finished invoice builds itself in the pane beside the form as you type, with the subtotal, VAT and total worked out. Your agency details, dates, terms and bank details come prefilled from Settings.

  • Line items with quantity, rate and discount.
  • Payment terms, PO number, supply date and a monthly retainer flag.
  • Bank details, IBAN and a payment link, which prints as a QR code.
  • Numbers run in order for each kind of document.
Documents and currencies

The right document, in the right currency

Choose from eight kinds of document, from a plain invoice to a UAE tax credit note. Each says what it is for, and a tax document checks it has what the FTA asks for. Bill in another currency and Wiro works out the value in yours at today's rate.

  • Invoice, Tax Invoice, Simplified Tax Invoice, Proforma Invoice, Quotation, Payment Receipt, Credit Note and Tax Credit Note.
  • Tax documents need VAT registration, set once in Settings.
  • A Simplified Tax Invoice over AED 10,000 warns you to issue a full Tax Invoice.
  • Override the converted value if your bank used a different rate.
Sending

Send it when it is ready, not before

Send to the client and the invoice is marked sent, with the PDF opened ready to attach. Or send a summary over WhatsApp, or just download the PDF. Send stays locked until the document has everything it needs.

  • Save a draft and come back to it.
  • Tax invoices check for both TRNs and the agency address before they go.
  • A receipt has to name the invoice it is for; a credit note, the one it corrects.
Recharging costs

Expenses billed back, not forgotten

Mark an expense as billable to a client and it waits for their next invoice. Open an invoice for that client and the expenses are offered right there: add one and it becomes a line item.

  • Expenses in another currency are converted to the invoice's.
  • Once billed, the expense shows which invoice it went on.
  • Void or delete the invoice and the expense can be billed again.
Payments

Part payments, and a receipt for each

Record what arrived, when and how. Wiro tells you whether it settles the invoice or what stays open. Once money is in, make a payment receipt for it in one click, already filled in.

  • Bank transfer, cash, cheque, card or payment link.
  • A payment that settles the invoice marks it paid on the date it arrived.
  • Receipts add no new revenue, so nothing is counted twice.
Corrections

Void, credit or delete, by the rules

What you can undo depends on where the document is. A draft can be deleted. A sent invoice can be voided and stays on record, marked void. A paid invoice is reversed with a credit note that names it.

  • Voided invoices keep their number and stop counting in totals.
  • A credit note against a tax invoice reverses the VAT too.
  • Wiro asks before voiding or deleting anything.
Expenses

Log an expense, VAT and all

Enter what you paid, and Wiro splits out the VAT whether the amount included it or not. Add the vendor's TRN and the VAT counts as reclaimable. Attach the receipt, link the project, and mark it billable or reimbursable.

  • Ten categories, from software to printing.
  • Paid personally? Mark it reimbursable and it waits to be repaid.
  • Recurring expenses log themselves monthly, quarterly or yearly.
  • Receipts as PDF, JPG or PNG, up to 10 MB.
The expense list

Where the money went, by category

Filter expenses by category and month, with a running total for each category. Flags show what is recurring, what was logged automatically, what is still to bill and who is still owed money.

  • Tap a reimbursement to mark it repaid.
  • Billed expenses name the invoice they went on.
  • Open the receipt from the list.
Reports

Revenue, expenses and VAT for any period

Pick a month, a quarter, a year or your own dates, and see revenue against expenses, your top clients, and the VAT you collected, can reclaim and owe. Export the lot as CSV or PDF for your accountant.

  • Net VAT payable, or the refund due, for the period.
  • Top clients by what they paid.
  • A statement of account for each client lives on their page.
